ABOUT
omar
Omar Lopez-Cepero is of Puerto Rican descent and grew up outside of Atlanta, GA. His family exposed him to the arts at an early age but, for much of his youth, he dedicated his time to competitive athletics. It wasn't until High School, when his Chorus and Theatre teachers recognized his talent as a singing actor and helped cultivate it, that he began to consider a career in the arts. He went on to receive the Frost School of Music Scholarship to the University of Miami to study Classical Vocal Performance. With that foundation and training, Omar has been able to carve out a widely varying career as an Actor and Singer. He has been seen on Broadway in such shows as American Idiot, On Your Feet!, and tapped by Andrew Lloyd Webber to star as Judas in the 50th Anniversary Touring Production of Jesus Christ Superstar, followed by Che in an acclaimed new production of Evita which played The American Repertory Theater and The Shakespeare Theater. He has also been seen on Television with guest starring roles on The Detour, Blue Bloods, and Vegas.
