ABOUT
omar
Omar Lopez-Cepero is of Puerto Rican and Cuban descent but grew up in suburban Atlanta, GA. His family exposed him to the arts at an early age, but he dedicated much of his youth to competitive athletics. It wasn't until High School, when his Chorus and Theatre teachers recognized and cultivated his artistic talents, that he began to consider a career in the arts. He went on to receive the Frost School of Music Scholarship at the University of Miami and earned a degree in Classical Vocal Performance. With that foundation and training, Omar has navigated a widely varied 20+ year career in theater and television. He has been seen on Broadway in such shows as American Idiot, On Your Feet!, as Judas in the 50th Anniversary Touring Production of Jesus Christ Superstar, and arguably most know for his portrayal as Che in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Evita. He has also been seen on Television with guest starring roles on The Detour, Blue Bloods, and Vegas. His most recent credits include Emile De Becque in South Pacific and Bob Wallace in White Christmas.
